GeoStat: GDP in 2022 over 72 billion GEL

In 2022, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Georgia at current prices amounted to 72 265.7 million GEL, the National Statistics Service (GeoStat) reported.

The largest share of GDP by regions are held by Tbilisi (51.2 percent), followed by Adjara A.R (9.4 percent), Imereti (8.8 percent), Kvemo Kartli (8.6 percent), and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti (5.2 percent).

The largest share in the value-added of Tbilisi is held by Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (24.6 percent), followed by Real estate activities (11.2 percent), and Construction (9.7 percent).

In Adjara A.R the main sectors include Construction (16.2 percent), Real estate activities (13.5 percent), Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (10.5 percent), while in Imereti, the third region of Georgia in terms of value added, Manufacturing (16.9 percent), Agriculture, forestry and fishing (10.3 percent) and Real estate activities (9.4 percent) represent the main spheres of economic activity.

Significant shares of value added are held by the following sectors in Kvemo Kartli: Manufacturing ((27.3 percent), Agriculture, forestry and fishing (13.1 percent), and Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (7.8 percent).
