GeoStat: Foreign visitors spent over GEL 6 billion in Georgia during Q3 2025
According to the National Statistics Office (GeoStat), in the third quarter of 2025, Georgia welcomed 3.0 million international non-resident travellers, representing a 6.6 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. The largest segment of arrivals, accounting for 40.7 per cent, was travellers aged between 31 and 50 years.
GeoStat reports that the total number of visits by these international visitors reached 2.5 million, a 6.8% rise from the same quarter in 2024.
Furthermore, during this period, the number of international visitors amounted to 2.2 million, a 7.6% increase year-on-year. Of these, 2.0 million were tourist-type visits, marking a 9.0 per cent rise compared to the previous year.
Tourists constituted 80.8 per cent of all international visitors. Excursionists made up 15.4 per cent, while 3.8 per cent of visitors engaged in both tourism and excursions.
The largest contingent of visitors, 567,100 in total, arrived from the Russian Federation, representing 26.1 per cent of the total. Türkiye followed with a share of 16.5 per cent, and Armenia ranked third with 11.8 per cent.
The predominant age group among visitors was 31-50 years, comprising 45.4 per cent of the total. Women accounted for 48.2% of all visitors.
In the third quarter of 2025, leisure, entertainment, and recreation were the primary reasons for visits, accounting for 58.7%.
Geostat’s data shows that the majority of visits took place in Tbilisi and the Adjara Autonomous Region, with 1,306,300 and 1,274,400 visits, respectively.
The average length of stay was 6.3 nights, a 2.1 per cent increase from 6.2 nights recorded in the same period last year. Notably, 73.3% of visits were made by repeat visitors.
Expenditure during this period reached over GEL 6.2 billion, an 8.6 per cent rise compared to the same quarter in 2024. The average spend per visit rose by 1.7 per cent, amounting to GEL 2,467.5.
