GeoStat: Business sector turnover up 10% reaching 64.7 billion GEL in Q3 2025
In the third quarter of 2025, Georgia’s business sector recorded a 10.0% year-on-year increase in turnover, reaching 64.7 billion GEL, according to the data from the National Statistics Office (GeoStat). Production value also grew, rising 9.7% compared to the same period last year and totaling 25.4 billion GEL.
Large businesses remained dominant, generating 67.5% of total turnover, while medium-sized enterprises accounted for 14.5%, and small businesses for 18.0%. In terms of production value, large enterprises held 46.1%, medium-sized 23.2%, and small businesses 30.8%.
Total purchases of goods and services by enterprises amounted to 33.5 billion GEL (up 8.8%), including 19.2 billion GEL for goods and services intended for resale (up 8.9%).
Employment in the business sector grew 3.3% year-on-year, reaching 814.7 thousand persons, of whom 43.0% were women and 57.0% men. Large businesses employed 42.1% of the workforce, medium-sized 19.9%, and small businesses 38.0%.
The number of employees stood at 758.0 thousand (a 2.0% annual increase), and personnel costs rose 13.1%, totalling 5.6 billion GEL.
The average monthly remuneration reached 2,420.9 GEL, an annual increase of 230.8 GEL. Women earned 1,846.9 GEL on average, growing 144.5 GEL year-on-year. By business size, average salaries were:
• Large enterprises: 2 498.3 GEL
• Medium enterprises: 2 801.6 GEL
• Small enterprises: 2 072.5 GEL
The arts, entertainment, and recreation sector accounted for the largest share of total turnover with 34.5%, followed by trade (33.5%), manufacturing (7.8%), construction (6.3%), transportation and storage (4.6%), and information and communication (3.4%).
By production value, trade (18.6%), manufacturing (18.3%), and construction (18.2%) were nearly tied for the top position, followed by transportation and storage (9.4%) and information and communication (8.4%).
The highest employment shares were observed in trade (29.1%), manufacturing (11.3%), and human health and social work (9.2%). Other notable sectors included construction (8.5%), transportation and storage (8.2%), information and communication (6.4%), and accommodation and food services (5.7%).
