GeoStat: Agricultural prices in Georgia rise by 5.5% in Q1 2026

According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), the unit cost index of agricultural products increased by 5.5% in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the previous quarter.

GeoStat reports that this change was mainly driven by a 37.1% rise in the cost of annual crops, which contributed 5.73 percentage points to the overall increase in the index.

Furthermore, the agency’s report indicates that the unit cost index of agricultural products grew by 15.0% year-on-year.

“The increase in the index was mainly due to an 11.5% rise in the value of live animals and animal products, which contributed 6.8 percentage points to the total change. During the same period, the value of annual crops increased by 23.2%, while perennial crops rose by 14.4%, contributing 3.92 and 4.27 percentage points respectively,” the GeoStat report states.
