Georgia's President holds face-to-face meeting with Slovak President

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili met with the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini.

According to the President’s press service, the leaders held a one-on-one discussion at the Slovak Presidential Palace, focusing on the successful cooperation between Georgia and Slovakia and the deepening of their ongoing dialogue. They stressed the importance of invigorating bilateral visits and expanding collaboration across various sectors.

As Georgia’s President highlighted, in an era marked by unprecedented global challenges and risks, it is particularly vital for Georgia to strengthen its partnership with Slovakia and to support each other in international forums.

During the meeting, Mikheil Kavelashvili expressed gratitude to his Slovak counterpart for Slovakia’s support of Georgia’s European integration efforts and its commitment to safeguarding the Georgia-EU partnership.

The President also reaffirmed Georgia’s appreciation for Slovakia’s backing of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Before the talks, the Georgian President signed the Book of Honourary Guests.

Mikheil Kavelashvili is in Slovakia on an official visit, accompanied by a delegation.

The Georgian delegation includes: Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament; Giorgi Zurabashvili, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Konstantine Kvachakidze, Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Slovakia; and representatives from the Georgian Presidential Administration.
