Georgia’s Minister for Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Protection, Mikheil Sarjveladze, has met with the Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights, Michael O’Flaherty.
According to the Ministry’s press service, the two sides discussed the human rights situation in Georgia.
“Mikheil Sarjveladze introduced Commissioner O’Flaherty to the work of the Ministry, and provided information on programmes and ongoing projects in the field of human rights protection.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to the Council of Europe’s Commissioner for Human Rights for the cooperation between their institutions and emphasised the importance of this partnership,” the Ministry’s statement read.
The Ministry further noted that the meeting also covered prospects for future cooperation between the Ministry for Internally Displaced Persons, Labour, Health and Social Protection and the Council of Europe.
