Georgia's First Lady travels to Washington at Melania Trump's personal invitation

Georgia’s First Lady, Tamar Bagrationi, has departed for Washington at the invitation of the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump.

According to the press office of the Presidential Administration, Tamar Bagrationi will attend a global summit organised at Melania Trump’s initiative, entitled Fostering the Future Together, which aims to promote the safe and innovative use of advanced technologies in support of children’s education, development, and well-being.

On the sidelines of the summit, Melania Trump will host the spouses of heads of state at the White House in a round-table format. The discussions are intended to assess the commitment of first ladies to children’s well-being in the digital age and to reflect on their shared responsibilities in this regard.

Before the round-table session, a working session will be hosted by the U.S. State Department, during which participants will explore the practical approaches and innovative tools available to help children seize opportunities and navigate the challenges of the digital era.

The events forming part of Melania Trump’s Fostering the Future Together global summit are scheduled to take place on March 24 and 25. Joining Georgia’s First Lady at the summit will be Baia Kvitsiani, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, and Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Youth Affairs.
