Georgian teachers are permitted to take examinations in up to three subjects simultaneously; registration opens on April 20
Georgia’s Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth has announced that, starting in 2026, teachers and prospective teachers will be permitted to register for and take examinations in up to three subjects simultaneously, rather than being restricted to a single subject at a time. Candidates may also take the Senior Special Teacher examination and the Basic Professional Skills examination within the same sitting.
According to the Ministry, the decision is designed to bring about a systematic strengthening of teachers’ subject-matter competence.
“As a result, the confirmation of subject competence will ensure the raising of teaching standards and will create a fair, quality-oriented educational environment,” the Ministry stated.
Registration will be conducted electronically via the National Assessment and Examinations Centre’s website, online.naec.ge, and will be open from 10:00 on April 20 until 18:00 on May 6.
Candidates are advised that they will not be permitted to select subjects with identical test content, including cases where a subject’s test tasks have been translated into a foreign language. For further information, candidates are encouraged to visit the official website of the National Assessment and Examinations Centre.
