Georgian President bestows Order of Golden Fleece upon Uzbek President

The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, has bestowed Georgia’s prestigious state decoration, the Order of the Golden Fleece, upon the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

During the ceremony, Mikheil Kavelashvili expressed his gratitude to the Uzbek President for his country’s steadfast support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its firm adherence to the non-recognition policy.

For context, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, is currently on an official state visit to Georgia. The official welcoming ceremony for the Uzbek President was held earlier today at the Atoneli Presidential Palace.
