Georgian police officers win gold and silver medals at World Police and Fire Games in US

Employees of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have won four gold and two silver medals at the World Police and Fire Games 2025, held in Birmingham, United States. The ministry’s press service announced on Sunday.

In powerlifting, Koba Kobakhidze, head of the Samtskhe-Javakheti Main Department of the Patrol Police Department, claimed first place and won gold. Fellow Patrol Police Department officer Levan Giligashvili also secured gold in the same discipline. Adamur Arkania, head of the Logistics Department division, won two gold medals in arm wrestling.

Two other Georgian competitors, Teimuraz Kalandadze, director of the Mtskheta-Mtianeti Police Department, and Ilia Jadugishvili from the Object Protection Department, each won silver medals in powerlifting.

The World Police and Fire Games have been held every two years in different cities worldwide since 1985. This year’s international tournament took place in Birmingham, with 8,500 athletes from 70 countries competing across 60 different sports.
