Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has met with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev.

According to the Georgian government administration, the bilateral meeting highlighted the strong strategic partnership between the two nations and their fruitful cooperation across various sectors.

“Focus was given to the deepening of economic ties and the pivotal role of the Georgia-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, with its upcoming session scheduled to take place in Georgia in the near future.

The discussion also underscored the importance of regional peace. The Prime Minister expressed Georgia’s support for the ongoing dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia, viewing it as a vital step towards regional stability and progress.

Additionally, the leaders addressed the situation in the Middle East, emphasising the need for diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and restore peace,” the official statement noted.
