Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude, Ilia II and the clergy hosted Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, First Lady of Armenia Nouneh Sarkissian, and members of the Armenian delegation being on an official visit to Georgia.
The sides talked about friendly relations between the two countries and ongoing international developments.
Patriarch accentuated the significance of peace for the Caucasus region and globally and the peaceful resolution of territorial conflicts.
Armen Sarkissian thanked the Georgian Patriarch for hosting and conveyed the greetings of the Patriarch of Armenia, Karekin II. He expressed hope for further strengthening of Georgia-Armenia friendly relations.
President of Armenia and delegation members then visited the Armenian Cathedral in Tbilisi.
The Armenian delegation arrived in Georgia with an official visit on April 15. The Armenian President plans to meet with Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze on Friday. He met his Georgian counterpart Salome Zourabichvili on the first day of his official visit to Tbilisi.
