Georgian Parliament kicks off working on judicial reform

The Georgian Parliament Monday kicks off working on another judicial reform rooted in the European Union recommendations for Georgia to get the EU candidate status later this year.

Speaker Shalva Papuashvili will chair the first, mostly technical meeting to draw up a specific agenda.

Part of the opposition plans to attend the meeting, Girchi, Citizens, European Socialists, For Georgia, and Republican Party Chair Khatuna Samnidze among them.

Others distrust the ruling Georgian Dream party, rebuffing to do so and demand concrete compromise steps for participation.

“The ruling team is ready to carry out all the recommendations and continue the judicial reform,” ruling team MP Beka Davituliani told the GPB First Channel.
