Georgian, Hungarian Agriculture Ministers sign MoU

Georgia’s Environment Protection and Agriculture Minister David Songhulashvili has signed a memorandum of understanding with his Hungarian counterpart István Nagy on the sidelines of an intergovernmental summit between the two countries.

“Within the framework of cooperation with Hungary, we are already achieving tangible results through joint efforts. Hungary’s support in the process of approximation with EU legislation is particularly noteworthy.

We are pleased that Georgia will receive significant support from Hungarian experts in meeting EU requirements in agriculture and rural development,” Songhulashvili noted.

According to the ministry’s press office, the memorandum aims to deepen strategic partnership and promote practical cooperation in agriculture between the two countries.

“Today’s memorandum represents a new stage in Georgia-Hungary cooperation. It expresses our common vision and firm commitment to effectively address existing challenges through concrete steps and joint efforts,” Songhulashvili said.

The minister emphasised the importance of sharing knowledge and experience through student and academic staff exchange programmes.

“Strengthening Georgian experts and specialists will play a crucial role in our sectoral development,” the Minister added.
