Georgian gov't to subsidize grape harvesting by 150 million GEL

A GEL 150 million subsidy will be provided by the Georgian Government for the 2022 grape harvest. The price for each kilogram of white grapes would be set at no less than 90 tetri, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at today’s Government meeting.

According to the PM, this year, Georgia sees a “record-high grape yield.”

“About 300,000 tonnes of grapes are expected to be harvested, with around 300 wine companies involved in the process,” Garibashvili asserted.
