Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, met with her Uzbekistani colleague Bakhtiyor Saidov within the framework of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand.
According to the Foreign Ministry, the two ministers reviewed bilateral relations in political, economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres and cooperation within international organizations.
They accentuated growing dynamics of high-level visits contributing to the development of ties between Georgia and Uzbekistan, highlighting increased trade turnover and the number of tourists.
Maka Botchorishvili and Bakhtiyor Saidov focused on Georgia’s significant role as a connector between Europe and Asia and prospects of the Middle Corridor development.
The two foreign ministers reviewed the regional and global security situation and underscored the significance of joint efforts in addressing facing challenges.
