Georgian Finance Minister attends IMF and World Bank spring meetings in Washington

Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili is in the United States, where he is taking part in the annual International Monetary Fund and World Bank Spring Meetings.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the Minister is scheduled to hold meetings with IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li, World Bank Vice-President for Europe and Central Asia Antonella Bassani, World Bank Managing Director of Operations Anna Bjerde, World Bank Executive Director Eugene Rugeana, IMF Executive Director Jeroen Clicq and Alternate Director Marnix van Rij, and IMF Middle East and Central Asia Department Director Jihad Azour.

“Lasha Khutsishvili will participate in a meeting of the IMF and World Bank member countries’ Constituency group. A meeting with IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li, involving Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors from the Caucasus and Central Asia region, is also scheduled. Additionally, the Finance Minister will participate in an IMF-organized roundtable focused on the Regional Economic Outlook.

Meetings are also planned with representatives of international financial institutions and donor organisations, as well as credit rating agencies and major investment companies.

Participating on behalf of the Georgian Ministry of Finance will be Deputy Ministers Giorgi Kakauridze and Ekaterine Guntsadze, together with the Head of the State Debt Management Department, Irakli Kacharava,” the Ministry stated.
