The Georgian Embassy in China warns Georgian citizen to refrain from traveling to the city of Wuhan, which is named as the epicenter of coronavirus spread.

Also, the Embassy recommends the Georgian citizens being in China to use facemasks and avoid public gathering places.

A newly identified strain of coronavirus has killed 17 people in China and caused hundreds of confirmed infections, the Hubei provincial government said Wednesday, citing the latest figures from hard-hit Wuhan and other cities.

Health officials in Beijing say they’re concerned that the deadly coronavirus could spread further during the Lunar New Year celebrations.

There were 548 confirmed cases of the virus across China as of late Wednesday night local time, according to the running tally being kept by the state-controlled Global Times newspaper.
