Georgian Defense Minister Levan Izoria met with US Defense Secretary James Mattis within the framework of his US visit. The meeting was held at the Pentagon. The sides discussed cooperation in defense sphere and regional security issues.
Mattis evaluated reforms ongoing in Georgian Defense Ministry as positive. US Defense Minister thanked Georgia for its contribution in Afghanistan peacekeeping mission.
Meetings are planned with US President’s Advisor in National Security Issues, Head of Security Council and Chairman of Armed Forces Committee of Senate in US Congress.
