Georgian cuisine was on display at The National Geographic Traveller Food Festival in London, UK, the National Tourism Administration reported.

“We had a special booth where we presented Georgian wine and dishes. These products are very popular among tourists. The UK is a target market for Georgia. We activated marketing campaigns launched since direct flight operations and observed a 25% increase in the first two quarters. Similar activities contribute to the awareness and attraction of more tourists,” said Maia Omiadze, Head of the Tourism Administration.

Georgia showcased its products at The National Geographic Traveller Food Festival for the second time.

“This festival primarily attracts travellers and enthusiasts of cuisine and wine. Our booth was very popular, and we hosted two master classes on Georgian wine, introducing visitors to its rich history, traditions, and production techniques. Many expressed interest in traditional winemaking methods. The festival provides an excellent platform to raise awareness of Georgia’s vibrant wine culture,” said Irakli Cholobargia, Advisor to the National Wine Agency.

Renowned Georgian Chef Guram Baghdoshvili showcased dishes such as Khinkali and Lobiani, while Chef Vakhtang Gobejishvili prepared traditional Khachapuri and Gebzhalia.

Glen Mutel, the Editor of National Geographic Traveller, remarked that Georgia’s rich and unique history makes its participation in this festival particularly meaningful.

“Georgian cuisine is an indivisible part of the country’s culture – Georgian table (supra), toasts and different dishes in both mountains and cities. This means that you have a lot to tell. Georgia is a tourist destination, and many of our readers have an impression but want to learn more,” he said.

According to one of the visitors, Georgian cuisine is amazing with many tasty dishes.

“I liked Tbilisi. I attended a masterclass in making Khachapuri. Then I returned to London and made it myself. Marvellous dishes. I will definitely come back to Georgia and will visit Tbilisi, Batumi and other beautiful cities,” the visitor said.
