Georgian conscripts commence eight-month initial combat training

Eight-month conscripts and voluntarily registered individuals have begun their initial combat training at the Zaza Peradze Initial Combat Training Centre in Akhalkalaki and the Vaziani Military Base, operated by the National Military Service of Conscripts.

During the first eight weeks, the recruits will undergo specialised training, covering various military disciplines and learning about their duties as soldiers. Upon completion, they will take the military oath and be assigned to different units across the Defence Forces, based on territorial needs.

On their very first day at the Zaza Peradze Training Centre, the conscripts received a comprehensive briefing, were issued their equipment, and settled into barracks.

A total of 590 young men and women have been conscripted through regional centres operated by the LEPL National Agency for Military Conscription and Recruitment across Georgia. Many arrived accompanied by their families and loved ones.

According to the Ministry of Defence of Georgia, after farewells and a group photograph, the recruits were distributed to units in Vaziani and Akhalkalaki with the support of the Ministry of Defence.
