At the initiative of the Romanian side, a telephone conversation took place on April 16, 2026, between Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, and Romania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana-Silvia Țoiu. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has provided the details.

According to the ministry, the two ministers exchanged views on Georgia’s relations with the European Union and the ongoing developments within Georgia.

“Maka Botchorishvili highlighted the regional challenges and the critical importance of maintaining stability and security in the current climate. The conversation also underscored the significance of enhancing cooperation in the Black Sea region,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
