Georgia-South Korea free trade negotiations to be held in February 2024

During his visit to Seoul, the Georgian Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Gennadi Arveladze, and South Korea’s Minister for Trade Dukgeun Ahn signed a joint statement to initiate negotiations on an economic partnership.

Additionally, the parties signed the document outlining the terms of the agreement negotiations.

The first round of negotiations will take place in the first quarter of 2024.

The agreement aims to cover trade liberalization in goods and services, addressing issues such as sanitary and phytosanitary measures, technical barriers to trade, intellectual property rights, government procurement, and more.

“Free trade agreement will bring significant benefits to both countries. It will strengthen trade and economic relations between Georgia and Korea,” Deputy Minister said.
