Georgia cherishes friendly relations and strategic partnership with Azerbaijan, Mayor Kaladze says
The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, accompanied by his wife, laid a wreath at the monument dedicated to the former President of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev. Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze welcomed him at Aliyev Square, where he paid tribute to the memory of Azerbaijan’s national leader.
“Azerbaijan is our strategic partner. The long-standing, warm, and cordial relations between our two nations are of great significance. President Aliyev’s visit to Georgia is particularly important, especially in light of the challenging situation in the Middle East, ongoing regional developments, and the global challenges we all face.
Ensuring peace in the region and within our own countries remains of fundamental importance. Naturally, we welcome these friendly relations and the strategic partnership with Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people,” said Kakha Kaladze.
The President of Azerbaijan is currently on a state visit to Georgia. As part of his programme, he also laid a wreath at the memorial honouring the heroes who sacrificed their lives fighting for Georgia’s unity.
