Georgia and Serbia Presidents hold expanded bilateral meeting

The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, held an expanded meeting with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, with the participation of both delegations.

The leaders discussed the main directions of bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Serbia, including sectoral collaboration and prospects for its further deepening. They noted that while bilateral trade is showing a growth trend, there are still significant opportunities to expand economic ties.

Both sides welcomed the increased frequency of high-level visits. President Kavelashvili emphasized that this first presidential-level visit will provide additional momentum to Georgian-Serbian relations and strengthen bilateral dialogue.

The discussion also addressed regional cooperation and highlighted the growing importance of the Middle Corridor in the context of evolving geopolitical realities. President Kavelashvili stressed that Georgia is committed to promoting the corridor’s development, ensuring its security, and supporting its effective functioning.

The leaders underlined that Georgia’s commitment to peace, stability, and economic prosperity remains unwavering, as reflected in its longstanding peace-oriented policy in the South Caucasus, which aims to foster long-term stability and deepen trust and cooperation among neighboring countries.

The meeting further highlighted the importance of promoting partnerships between higher education and professional institutions, scientific and research centers, as well as exchanging expertise in youth policy, innovation, technology, and artificial intelligence development.

The expanded meeting was attended by Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Boტchorishvili, Members of Parliament Irakli Mezurnishvili, Irma Zavradashvili, and Guram Macharashvili, Ambassador of Georgia to Serbia Levan Beridze, and representatives of the Administration of the President of Georgia.
