Geo Sky Head says company's employees in Sudan stay safe, awaiting evacuation
Geo Sky Airlines Head Shalva Kiknadze said the company’s employees in Sudan are safe at this stage.
As Kiknadze confirmed to the GPB’s First Channel, the company employees are waiting for the agreement to provide a safe corridor for them to leave the building before the evacuation.
“First, our engineers and pilots should get to the aircraft, inspect and evaluate the plane to determine if it is possible to fly or depart by alternative means. We wait for an official confirmation that it is possible to leave the building. Our company’s employees stay safe at home, and have water and food,” he said.
Sudan’s military and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary group have been engaged in fierce fighting since April 15.
