“Offence in public space must not be tolerated. The Georgian language provides individuals with the means to express their protests with decency and politeness,” said Davit Matikashvili, the Georgian Dream (GD) party member.
He emphasized that a proper response is necessary.
“The use of hate speech, baseless slander, and outright offence in Georgia is often financed from abroad. Such behaviour demands a reaction. Offence in a public space should not become a lawful practice. The Georgian language is rich and fully capable of allowing individuals to voice their protests respectfully. Therefore, those who wish to express their dissent should do so with courtesy,” he stated.
