GD's Makhashvili: French National Assembly's resolution reflects spirit of radicals

“The French National Assembly’s resolution is a kind of radicalism, very well reflecting the radical spirit that these forces embody, including Salome Zurabishvili (ex-president),” said Levan Makhashvili, a member of the Georgian Dream (GD) party.

According to Makhashvili, there was nothing astonishing in this resolution.

“The fact that several lawmakers voted in favour of the resolution speaks a lot, including a lack of willingness to have more confrontation or radicalization with Georgia. The world has changed, and we have a completely different situation, different moods, and different expectations about the future. There are different expectations about more dialogue and cooperation instead of the same old attempts to further damage relations with the country based on lies and unsubstantiated accusations,” he said.

The French National Assembly adopted a resolution on 11 May 2026 criticising the Georgian government and reaffirming support for Georgia’s European integration.
