GD's Kaladze dismisses EP resolutions as worthless, claims they are simply lobbying

“We’ve seen many such resolutions; we know how they are adopted and how much they cost,” said Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, commenting on the annual report on Georgia adopted by the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee.

Responding to questions about the report, Kaladze stated that the majority of Georgians hold an appropriate attitude towards such resolutions, which are often influenced by lobbying efforts.

“We’ve seen many such resolutions; we know how they are adopted and how much they cost. All of this is wrapped up in lobbying. These resolutions are worth nothing,” Kaladze asserted.

“The people who represent foreign agencies in our country—most of society regards them and their allies as they deserve. Agents and servants of foreign interests will always be viewed accordingly by the people. Unfortunately, there are quite a few such bureaucrats and odious individuals, but everything will change. We will achieve the kind of Europe we’ve been striving for—one based on honesty and integrity, not lies and slander,” the Tbilisi Mayor stated.

Kaladze emphasized the difference between those working for Georgia’s interests and radicals.

“Our country is important to us. The radicals’ starting point is what they are told from outside. We are people who fulfil the tasks of the Georgian people and are committed to our nation’s true path” Kaladze concluded.

The European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee approved the amended annual report on Georgia.
