GD faction nominates Tsotne Ananidze for chairmanship of Adjara Supreme Council
On March 31, 2026, the Georgian Dream faction of the Supreme Council of Adjara, led by Deputy Chairman Lasha Sirabidze, convened to discuss their candidate for the position of Chair of the autonomous republic’s legislative body.
According to the Supreme Council of Adjara, the faction unanimously supported the nomination of Tsotne Ananidze, a delegate from Kobuleti and Chair of the Committee for Human Rights Protection.
“At the outset of the meeting, the faction members expressed their gratitude to the former Chair of the Supreme Council, Davit Gabaidze, for his decade of dedicated service, commendable leadership, and valuable contributions to the region. They wished him success in his future endeavours.
Tsotne Ananidze thanked his colleagues for their trust and emphasised that leading the legislative body is, above all, a profound responsibility to the people, the country, the region, and his fellow members.
The Georgian Dream faction will officially nominate Tsotne Ananidze for the position of Chair of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara at the upcoming extraordinary plenary session,” the Supreme Council of Adjara announced.
