GD Executive Secretary expects reset of U.S.-Georgia relations without imploring for visa-free travel, free trade
“We expect to reset relations with the United States onto such a stage when Georgia would not have to implore for visa-free travel, direct flights and free trade,” said Mamuka Mdinaradze, Executive Secretary of the Georgian Dream (GD) party.
Mamuka Mdinaradze described Tamar Taliashvili, a nominee for the post of Georgia’s Ambassador to the United States, as a professional and experienced candidate “oriented on acting in the country’s interests.”
“We have a strategic partnership with the United States. However, neither now nor before we had visa-free travel or direct flights, and we even have the lowest rate of visa issuance in the region. Therefore, we do not need only nice words; what matters is what the friendly country will do for Georgia. This will determine the quality of friendship.
When an ambassador is appointed, we expect to reset relations with the United States onto such a stage when Georgia would not have to implore for visa-free travel, direct flights and free trade. This is how we will be convinced in the reset of relations, in tangible outcomes,” he stated.
Tamar Taliashvili, a member of the Georgian parliament from the Georgian Dream (GD) party, is nominated for the post of Georgia’s Ambassador to the United States.
