GD Chair: Opposition to prove whether it plays Russian or Georgian game

The fact that Nika Melia (UNM Chair) is in jail is a Russian game, which Mikheil Saakashvili (former president) played with Nika Melia’s co-participation, said Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream party, in an interview with Imedi TV.

According to Kobakhidze, Melia intruded in the parliament and CEC building because he played a Russian game. He publicly removed the electronic bracelet and refused to pay the bail on the same motive.

“Our goal is not to allow anybody to continue playing the Russian game. We signed the EU-proposed document with that purpose. Now the opposition has to prove whether it plays a Russian or Georgian game,” Irakli Kobakhidze claimed.

The ruling Georgian Dream party publicly signed the compromise solution prepared by the European Council President Charles Michel’s personal envoy Christian Danielsson on April 16.

The opposition participating in the negotiations refused to sign the compromise paper unless early elections and release of the United National Movement Chair, Nika Melia, and the co-founder of the TV channel Mtavari Arkhi Giorgi Rurua.
