“Our party has distanced itself from this foolishness and harm from the very first moment, not only from the scenario of a peaceful overthrow but also from the boycott. We made significant sacrifices in the October 4 elections for this reason,” stated Giorgi Sharashidze, a member of the Political Council of the Gakharia for Georgia party.

According to him, the incident only strengthened the party and reaffirmed its members in the belief that their political decision was the correct one.

“We took a certain blow ourselves, but it means nothing. We are confident that our decision was right, and we will continue to stand by it. We have nothing in common with those politicians who refuse to take responsibility, who do not even apologise to the people for their irresponsibility, the very actions that caused so much unhappiness. They are devising new scenarios for a peaceful overthrow. Our political force will never be associated with them; that is a red line for us, and we drew it a long time ago.

Our primary goal remains a peaceful transfer of power, and we recognise that this will entail many further sacrifices. But we are prepared to face this challenge together with voters who recognise that the boycott campaign was a mistake and a harm, not to mention an attempted peaceful overthrow. They will come to realise that they should choose not irresponsible parties responsible for the current chaos, but a reasonable, moderate, responsible, pragmatic, and rational political force like ours,” Giorgi Sharashidze concluded.
