Gakharia's Khvedeliani views use of sincere emotions for party interests as irresponsible

“Use of sincere emotions of people rallying at Rustabeli Avenue for party interests and creation of false expectations is irresponsible,” said Tata Khvedeliani, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party.

According to Khvedelieni, October 4 is Election Day, and the use of people for radical and violent scenarios is unacceptable.

She said that the Gakharia for Georgia party members would not join the rally, since “making change from self-governance level and peaceful fight through elections” is a priority for the party.

“Therefore, everyone should come to the elections and vote to truly initiate change at the local government level. For us, development of any radical or violent scenario in our country is unacceptable since it would strengthen the Georgian Dream’s regime and would benefit Russia’s interests,” she said.

Tata Khvedeliani remarked that the party members stood with the people and the protest was “healthy.” However, using sincere emotions for party interests is irresponsible.

“For 13 years now, we have been watching exactly such irresponsible statements from the United National Movement. Accordingly, the expectation that we will change the current situation with such meetings is a false expectation. Elections are the only way to make a change. The Georgian Dream regime is responsible for the current situation, and it seeks radicalisation of the process. Responsibility also lies with those parties and politicians who have been feeding the Georgian Dream regime with violent calls for several months,” Khvedeliani concluded.
