Gakharia for Georgia's Parulava urges SSSG Head to provide details about his U.S. visit

MP Giga Parulava, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party, urged Mamuka Mdinaradze, Head of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG), to provide society with details about his visit to the U.S.

Giga Parulava believes that Mdinaradze’s U.S. visit is linked to the interests of Bidzina Ivanishvili, Honourable Chair and founder of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party.

“Several days ago, we informed society that SSSG Head Mamuka Mdinaradze was sent to the United States by Ivanishvili as an agent. The SSSG instantly rejected the information, while today it confirmed it was telling a lie. Let the service explain to society for what purposes Ivanishvili sent Mdinaradze and with whom he met there. We believe the visit is linked to Ivanishvili’s private interests,” he said.

On February 4, members of the Gakharia for Georgia party, Giga Parulava and Giorgi Sharashidze, said that SSSG Head Mamuka Mdinaradze was in the U.S. The SSSG rejected this information.

The State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) reported on February 11 that its Head Mamuka Mdinaradze paid a working visit to the U.S. on February 7-10. According to the SSSG, Mdinaradze visited the U.S. at the invitation of his colleague to review security issues.
