“Our stance remains unchanged from the very beginning; it is the same today and will be tomorrow. No one can influence it—neither from within the country nor from abroad. If you ask me what our position is, I would say, we are simply preparing for these elections,” stated Beka Liluashvili, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party.
He emphasized that the next step involves reaching an agreement on neutral and apolitical candidates, a topic the party is ready to discuss.
“There has been a discourse of unity and other issues — let the United National Movement and personally Madam Tsitlidze understand one thing: the Gakharia for Georgia party cannot oppose something that does not exist and will not exist, which is our unity is with the UNM, something that does not and will not exist in the past, present, or future. Therefore, we cannot oppose what does not exist.
We have outlined our position clearly, and it has not changed. We have engaged in discussions on this matter. Let them debate whether they intend to participate or not. Our next step is to agree on neutral, apolitical candidates. Once this topic appears on their agenda, we are ready to engage in talks,” Beka Liluashvili concluded.
