French President calls Russia’s Putin “predator” and “ogre”
“When we say there’s an ogre at Europe’s gates, an expression used by many, I think it characterises what the Georgians, the Ukrainians and other nations feel very deeply,” said French President Emmanuel Macron at the joint press conference with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, speaking about Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Macron called Putin a “predator” and “an ogre at our gates” warning European leaders not to trust him.
The leaders of France and Germany on Aug 29 vowed to step up pressure on Russia over its war against Ukraine, warning that President Vladimir Putin was showing little appetite to end Moscow’s three-and-a-half-year onslaught against its neighbour.
