Four oppositional alliances deem new elections with international engagement as solution to situation

Four oppositional alliances released a joint statement where they stated that they would jointly confront the “illegitimate” regime of the Georgian Dream and its “organized systemic violence” against peaceful protesters and journalists.

The coalitions stated that through cooperation, they would assist protesters demanding immediate release of the detainees.

“Through coordinated and joint efforts and together with Georgian people we fight in the street to rescue our state. We agree to provide legal, informational and medical assistance.

The solution to the current grave situation is holding new elections with international engagement in the conditions of new election administration, politically neutral law enforcement and other state institutions.

Together, we call on the international community to condemn systemic violence against peaceful protesters, make firm statements about the non-recognition of the seized election results and make tangible responsive steps.

This is our common struggle and it will continue until the victory of Georgian democracy and its European perspective,” reads the statement issued by the parties.
