Foreign Minister – Report of European Commission on fulfillment of visa liberalization with respect to Georgia is recognition of successful activities of Georgian government
Davit Zalkaliani, Minister of Foreign Affairs said that the report of the European Commission on fulfillment of requirements for visa liberalization by western Balkans and Eastern Partnership countries with respect to Georgia is the recognition of successful activities of the Georgian government.
According to Zalkaliani, based on the report, Georgia continues fulfillment of commitments and there is no threat to the country’s visa-free regime with the European Union.
The report stresses on the Georgian government’s successful steps taken against illegal migration of Georgian citizens and active cooperation with Europol.
The report also welcomes Georgia’s measures imposed in struggle against spread of COVID-19 in the country, namely, closure of borders, declaring state of emergency and bringing more than 13 thousand Georgian citizens from abroad back to Georgia.
