For Georgia’s MP Parulava: If boycotters have any reason, they should choose another date, since May 26 is national holiday

“If the boycotters have any justification for their actions, they should select a different date, as May 26 is a national holiday when Georgian society should come together to celebrate Independence Day,” MP Giga Parulava, a member of the For Georgia faction, told journalists.

According to the MP, a segment of the opposition is acting in alignment with the Georgian Dream’s propaganda agenda.

“It is no longer acceptable to claim that they start and end their activities on May 26. I’m unsure what they actually begin and conclude. May 26 is a day of national unity for Georgia, a time when society should be united. It is entirely unacceptable for any force to exploit symbolic dates to divide society into enemies and supporters. Such actions serve the interests of the Georgian Dream’s propaganda, and this has been proven repeatedly.

We recall the narratives about beginning and concluding on the 26th, an example is statements about October 4, when they started with political appeals but then retreated into their homes, leaving misled citizens at barricades in front of the police. These actions are unacceptable and only serve to benefit the government,” Parulava stated.
