“Any government reshuffle should serve the well-being of citizens and the interests of the state. These recent changes, however, do not advance either of these objectives,” stated MP Giga Parulava, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party, speaking to GPB First Channel.

Furthermore, Parulava voiced scepticism regarding the effectiveness of the State Minister’s Office in coordinating law enforcement agencies.

“We see this as a personal decision by Bidzina Ivanishvili. The draft law was introduced hastily, without even establishing a dedicated office for the State Minister. The functions are to be carried out by services within the government administration. What kind of office, what effective governance or coordination can we expect from this? A person who was promoted to general in just six months has been assigned the role of evening coordinator without even a proper office to operate from. We do not hold high expectations that Mdinaradze’s office will deliver effective management,” Parulava concluded.
