“Irakli Kobakhidze promised the public that prices would fall, yet we have seen no such reductions for any products,” stated MP Tata Khvedeliani, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party.

According to her, “the person responsible for the country appears to be unaware of the real challenges faced by the people.”

“Irakli Kobakhidze’s approach and his staged humorous sketches only serve as a facade to distract from the real issues. He has lost the battle over the price of eggs and is now fighting over the cost of meat. He wants to brush everything under the carpet. Despite promising price reduction, we have seen no drops in any products. After he announced price reductions, electricity tariffs surged by 30%, bread prices increased by 9%, meat by 7%, and the cost of eggs and dairy products also rose. This entire process seems designed to cover up the failures. Once again, the population has been deceived.

The price commission meetings are conducted incompetently and unprofessionally, with attempts to mask their shortcomings through humorous sketches. This is, frankly, very difficult to endure. In whose hands are we? The person responsible for the country appears to be out of touch with the real hardships that people face.

People are struggling. The fact that many are hungry and that buying meat remains a problem is being dismissed with such trivial humour; he even joked about buying meat for ten GEL. But where, exactly, can one buy meat for ten GEL with that stolen money?” added Tata Khvedeliani.
