For Georgia’s Khvedeliani: Our red line is UNM’s parties and its branches on opposition flank; no talks of unification
“The red line for us is the parties of the United National Movement (UNM) and its branches on the opposition flank. Accordingly, there is no consideration of any unification,” stated MP Tata Khvedeliani, a member of the Gakharia for Georgia party.
Regarding cooperation with Lelo, Khvedeliani noted that they did not continue their collaboration after the local elections and are not currently discussing any future cooperation.
“We are not contemplating unification with anyone. The red line for us remains the parties of the United National Movement and its branches on our opposition flank. Therefore, there is no talk of any unification. It is welcome if a specific opposition party, such as Lelo, chooses to position itself independently and continue the fight. We previously collaborated with them to pursue common goals and reinforce our shared positions, particularly during the local government elections. However, that cooperation did not persist beyond that. For now, we are not discussing anything, but we will see what unfolds next,” Khvedeliani explained.
Yesterday, the Strong Georgia–Lelo party issued a statement affirming their readiness to cooperate on issues of national importance and in effective action formats, while maintaining their stance as an independent political entity.
