FM: Frequent meetings with diplomatic corps to be held when we wish to provide information on developments in Georgia
Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili spoke about the meeting held with representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia.
As the Minister noted, such meetings will be frequent at the Foreign Ministry whenever the department wishes to provide information to diplomatic corps representatives regarding ongoing processes and topical issues in Georgia.
“This was a moment, a time when we deemed it necessary for diplomats to have information about what we were dealing with on October 4; about how the elections were conducted, that’s precisely what was discussed at this meeting. We provided diplomats with information from our side about the events that unfolded in Tbilisi. Among other things, we also discussed the reactions, and we articulated our position,” Maka Botchorishvili stated.
According to the Foreign Minister, there was no interaction from the EU Ambassador during the meeting.
Maka Botchorishvili noted that there was nothing unusual in the comments made by Paweł Herczyński following the meeting.
“We saw the comment, in which nothing is surprising; he is an ambassador, he represents the European Union in Georgia, and naturally, he would repeat the statement that his leadership had made previously,” the Minister remarked.
