FM Botchorishvili meets with Hungarian counterpart Peter Szijjártó in Luxembourg

During the Council of Europe Ministerial in Luxembourg, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili met with Hungarian Foreign and Trade Minister Peter Szijjártó.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions focused on current issues concerning bilateral strategic relations and the prospects for fruitful cooperation across various sectors.

“Special emphasis was placed on enhancing collaboration between Georgia and Hungary in trade, economics, energy, and Black Sea connectivity,” the statement noted.

The officials underscored the significance of the upcoming Georgia-Hungary intergovernmental summit, scheduled to take place in Budapest on June 11-12.

The meeting reaffirmed Hungary’s strong support for Georgia’s European Union integration. To advance this shared goal, both sides expressed their readiness to deepen cooperation at both the political and expert levels.

The conversation also addressed regional challenges and the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories.

Concluding the talks, the parties agreed to pursue coordinated efforts and strengthen their partnership,” the Foreign Ministry’s statement concluded.
