First Vice Speaker Volski: Talk of weak fence resembles pathetic attempt at self-justification; poor quality fencing should not determine political assessments
“Since 2020, there’s been squealing about somehow gathering male strength; finally, on October 4, male strength was gathered, and the frenzied called for an assault. That fence is not designed to withstand and repel a frenzied, inflamed mob attacking and demolishing it. The poor quality of the fence should not determine political assessments,” stated the First Vice-Speaker of Parliament, Gia Volski.
According to him, from the Prime Minister down to the ordinary police officer, everyone warned the protesters that the protest should not be violent.
“It’s the same as saying, ‘I stabbed them and they died because I thought they were wearing body armour, but it turns out they weren’t. They wouldn’t have died if they’d been wearing body armour, would they?’ If there had been no warning, if all necessary measures had been taken, we might naturally have harboured some suspicion that the fence was deliberately being weakened. But no, when an area is cordoned off with police tape that reads ‘Do not cross’, one must not cross it. All the more so when everyone, from the Prime Minister down to the ordinary police officer, was warning in quite warm terms. Talk of the fence being weak resembles a pathetic attempt at self-justification,” Volski declared.
