First Vice Speaker: Financial resources of NGOs used during radical rallies
“The political context does not come from the investigation, but from the activities of non-governmental organizations, which went beyond all frames of their charters,” said Gia Volski, First Vice of the Georgian parliament.
According to Volski, the Prosecutor’s Office investigates the process directly linked to national security. He said the Prosecutor’s Office had evidence that the financial resources of non-government organizations were used during the rallies, which led to various violations related to the revolutionary scenario.
“These organizations elaborated this scenario. The scenario included an attack on the police, a physical confrontation with law enforcers, and an outcome that they did not hide, which should have led to bloodshed, casualties. This scenario had to be the process developed on the Maidan,” he said.
The Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, within the framework of an ongoing investigation, decided to freeze bank accounts of seven non-governmental organizations.
