First Vice-Speaker: Collective National Movement's agenda could erase Georgia from map

Georgia has not altered its foreign policy course, and there is no evidence of election rigging, First Vice-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Gia Volski stated, accusing the opposition of misleading the public.

According to Volski, the protest rally organized by opposition parties on September 13 drew only a small number of participants, despite significant efforts and support.

“There were few people at yesterday’s rally. When so many parties and NGOs, backed from abroad, are focused on this scenario, Khabeishvili’s supporters expected mass mobilization. But that did not happen. Those who did attend are our fellow citizens, though some are obsessed with anti-Georgian ideas, while others have been misled,” Volski said.

He stressed that attempts to push a “revolutionary scenario” would endanger Georgia’s future.

“Georgia has not changed its foreign policy, and there is no evidence of rigged elections. These ideas are being spread by a minority, and the majority of society cannot follow them. Even many opposition supporters understand that the destructive path proposed by the so-called ‘collective National Movement,’ represented by Khabeishvili and others, would only harm Georgian families, sacrifice future generations, and erase Georgia from the political map,” Volski stated.
