Finnish Minister for European Affairs: Finland positive about EU enlargement

Finland is positive about the EU enlargement as long as the criteria are met, said Anders Adlercreutz, Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering of Finland ahead of the informal meeting of European Affairs Ministers in Stockholm, Sweden.

“Still much work is ahead but we are always happy when there are signs of progress as far as the criteria set goes. The general position of Finland is that, of course, we are positive toward enlargement as long as the criteria are met. The process and the criteria are clear. It is not for show, It is a real process and we all hope that it will lead to the stepping stones to the situation at the end when the European Union can enlarge,” he said.
