“Indeed, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has expressed a keen interest in investing in both the Middle Corridor infrastructure and the energy sector,” stated Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili following a meeting with representatives of the bank.

As the Minister highlighted, the discussion centred on current and prospective projects that the bank is actively supporting in Georgia.

“We reached an agreement on the key priorities for their investments, which focus on enhancing the country’s connectivity, including infrastructure along the Middle Corridor, covering road, rail, maritime, and air links. The energy sector also remains a significant area of interest for the bank. We concurred that a dedicated mission will be visiting Georgia in the near future, during which we will explore specific projects that the bank intends to finance,” Khutsishvili explained.
